Wood we harden ourselves.

Those wild colors are real wood. We take burl and birdseye maple, soak it in Cactus Juice resin, then cure it until it's rock-hard. It won't crack, swell or rot, even in a kitchen sink.

A real forge. Serious iron.

We didn't start with a hobby kit, and we don't work from one now.

Restoration

Old steel, new again.

Eric collects antique swords and weapons, and bringing old iron back to life is one of his favorite things to do. Bring us Grandpa's axe, a rusty heirloom knife or a box of old tools, and we'll make them work again.

  • Old tools: axes, hammers, chisels, drawknives. We de-rust them, reshape them and fit new handles.
  • Heirloom knives: sharpened, repaired and re-handled, often in stabilized wood.
  • Antique swords & weapons: cleaned and restored carefully, to keep their history.

Questions

Forge FAQ

How much does a custom knife cost?

Small pieces like money clips start around $100. Most custom kitchen and Damascus knives land in the hundreds. Swords and big showpieces can reach $5,000. We quote every piece individually after you tell us what you want.

How long does a commission take?

Weeks to months, depending on the piece and how busy the forge is. Damascus takes the longest because we forge-weld and fold the steel ourselves. We'll give you a realistic date up front.

Do you ship?

Yes, anywhere. Or you can pick it up locally in the Portland–Vancouver metro.

How does payment work?

Every piece is made just for you, so we take full payment before we start forging. You approve the design and quote first.

What's Damascus steel?

Two or more steels forge-welded together, then folded and twisted. After we etch the finished blade, the layers show up as the wavy pattern you see in our photos. No two are ever the same.

What's a stabilized wood handle?

Wood soaked under vacuum in Cactus Juice resin and cured until it's rock-hard. You keep the look of burl or birdseye maple, and it won't crack, swell or rot. We can dye it almost any color.

Can you restore an old tool or knife?

Yes, and we love it. Send us photos of the piece through the form. We clean, reshape, sharpen and re-handle old axes, hammers, knives and tools. We also restore antique swords, carefully.

Are you the farmer–blacksmith couple from TikTok?

That's us. We went from farming to blacksmithing on camera, and a lot of you have followed along. People stop us for pictures and ask for knives, so now you can order one.

Something one of a kind, made by two people who love the fire.

Knives, axes, swords, gifts and restorations. Tell us what you want and we'll forge it.
